Grindcore band INSISTENT offer up their own brand of chaos and brutality with their 2021 release “Disease” — an album that is sure to cause some bloody noses and missing teeth in the mosh pit. The first song “Eyewashed” comes in fast and loud and ends almost as quickly as it began. The song is barely more than a minute long and seems to end without warning. Instantly, you’re pulled into noisy mayhem with punishing drums and deep, guttural, demonic vocals. Because the song is so short, you’re then thrust into “Last Farewell,” another song just a little over a minute where the drums wreak havoc and your ears are pounded unforgivingly with commotion. I was relieved when the title track “Disease” began and I wasn’t immediately pummeled, but there wasn’t much of a break from the beating.
